I’ve been on my fitness journey for a long time now, way back into college. I have always enjoyed group fitness classes the most. I have tried many gyms and different forms of exercise, and group classes keep me the most on track. After 3 boys, losing myself a bit being a full-time working mom, with boys involved in many extra curricular activities, I decided it was time to get some ME time back.
Just get started! I can’t tell you how nervous I was to walk into GRIT alone for my first time, but I did, and I haven’t looked back since. This place has been welcoming and felt like home since day one. The people and the coaches genuinely care. I’ve never regretted a day working out, as hard as it is to get in there sometimes, it’s ALWAYS worth it. This is the best way to start my day!
I have 3 boys, twin 10-year-olds and a 5-year-old. I teach 3rd grade in Portage. Although I am an educator, and work hard to make my students great readers and stress the importance of literacy, I have NEVER liked to read until recently. I would be the one skimming books in school, or reading the synopsis and hoping I would get the plot. In the last few months, I have read more books than I probably read in two years combined!
Anything next to the fan! I honestly don’t have a favorite workout; I love that every day is different, challenging and sweaty. Surrender squats with battle ropes and bear crawl are for the birds though!
I am always there for my mental health but close behind that is weight loss. This has always been my goal, even when I struggle to achieve it. I refuse to quit trying and the best part is, I actually enjoy it! It has been fun along the way!
