I've always been an active person since I was a kid, but my true fitness journey began in college. My friends encouraged me to join their workouts, and it became a fun, social activity for us. Over time, I realized how much I enjoyed staying fit and the positive impact it had on my life. Now, my main motivation is to keep up with my energetic kids, stay healthy for my family, and enjoy our outdoor adventures together.
I like full-body and lower body workouts because they challenge me and keep things interesting. I know I need to work more on my upper body to get stronger in that area. While I enjoy most exercises, I have to admit that core workouts are my least favorite. However, I understand their importance, so I keep pushing through.
Stick with it! Consistency is key. Over time, working out will become a habit that you look forward to and can't imagine your life without. You'll find yourself addicted-in a good way- to the positive energy and sense of accomplishment that comes with each workout.
I'm a mountain bike coach for the SW Michigan ThunderCats mountain bike team, where both my kids ride. My son and husband started the team almost 4 years ago, and it's become a family affair. We all love being involved and sharing our passion for mountain biking.
