Having been an athlete in High School, I was struggling with my body image and energy levels after having two children and was never motivated enough to keep a consistent routine at the gym. Joining classes seemed intimidating because everyone there already knew the routine. A friend in Massachusetts asked me to join her at a Boot Camp workout and I was hooked! I liked the idea that every class was different and led by someone else so that I didn't have to come up with a workout on my own!
I really love that GRIT has added in some heavier weightlifting workouts and now Fridays have become my favorite with the focus on mobility and heavier weightlifting. I have also enjoyed the periodic outdoor meetups that we've had with GRIT. It is hard to pick just one favorite type of workout though.....because the biggest draw for me is the variety we get at GRIT!
Come as often as possible! The coaches are always so great at explaining things and giving you personal attention if needed. Every day is unique and it's always interesting to see what the next workout will be. Even if your muscles are killing you, it's actually better to just show up and work it out.
I had the opportunity to live in Germany with my husband for 2 1/2 years before we had kids. During this time, I learned to speak German, and it also piqued my interest in history and traveling.
My main goal is to increase strength, flexibility, and to hopefully increase my fitness level. I am always trying to lose some weight but mainly want to feel good in my body and enough energy to keep enjoying life.
