All through high school I use to be very active. As I got into college I stopped working out. Once I graduated and got a job I realized I needed to start prioritizing my health again. I wanted to be able to look in the mirror and feel strong like I was doing everything I could to better myself.
Since I have started at GRIT I have lost about 25 pounds. My new goal is to maintain the weight loss and gain more muscle mass.
In my spare time I love spending time on the lake. I find it relaxing and a good way to get away from things. I also am an animal lover, no matter what kind. I’m the person who would pick up animals many people would be scared of.
Advice I would give to a new member would be to keep going with it. There may be days where you don’t feel like you’re making progress fast enough, but it’s happening even if you can’t see it. That is something I needed to be reminded of. Also even after a long day of work, go to class. I always felt so much better after I finished a class.
My favorite workouts are ones where we lift heavy. Most recently the PR workout. It was nice to see what I could max out on.
